Firearms shall only be loaded at the firing
point on instructions from the range officer, and with the barrel pointed
at the target area.
Only the targets provided shall be fired at.
Under no circumstances shall glass bottles, etc… be used as targets.
Turning around with loaded firearm is
forbidden.
Firearms should be holstered, or put down
unloaded, whenever shooting is interrupted for target changing etc… Under
no circumstances may firearms be handled whenever anyone is in front of
the firing point.
Other people’s firearms shall not be touched
without the express permission of the owner.
Hearing and eye protection shall be worn during
shooting.
Instructions given by the range officer shall
be complied with unconditionally.
Persons entering the range area shall not be
under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
On your arrival your weapon must remain in its
holster / bag or box until you are on the range and it is safe to remove
so.
Ranges to be kept clean.
Shooters shall be a minimum of 1,5 meters
apart.
All shooters enter at own risk.
CODE
OF CONDUCT
The Range Officer must ensure that the red
warning flags are raised during shooting exercise.
The appointment of Range Officers will be made
by the Chief Range Officer.
The Range Officers will be those individuals
holding a valid Range Officer certification from anaccredited training provider and is
affiliated at Rooikraal Shooting Range.
All shooters and other persons on the range,
then comes under his authority.
All shooters must complete the range register
before entering the shooting range.
All shooters must conduct themselves in an
orderly manner at all times and will be responsible for the conduct of any
guests accompanying them.
Shooters can only load firearms on the firing
line after the Range Officer has given the command to load.
Always keep firearm pointed in a safe
direction.
Always keep your finger off the trigger until
ready to shoot.
Always treat your firearm as if it is loaded.
Always know our target and what is beyond.
Wearing of
proper ear and eye protection is compulsory.
Only paper and cardboard target can be used.
Persons entering these premises do so entirely
at their own risk.
Shooters may not consume alcoholic beverages or
drugs (including prescription and over-the-counter medications) before or
during live firing.
